Deadly Hotspots

Leave it to those wacky BBC News researches with oodles of time of their hands.  Recently they carefully gathered evidence and combed through statistics to determine where in the world you are most likely to die from a specific cause. Pick a cause, any cause.

Afraid of bees?  Stay out of El Salvador. Scared of fire?  Definitely avoid Bhutan. Falling out of bed?  No trips to Hungary for you.

That Eastern Europe line of suicide, liver, heart attack, falling off a ladder, falling out of bed is also the highest ETOH in the world line.

An acquaintance of mine is looking for a wife. Having seen some good looking women at his apartment complex pool of Venezuelan origin, but who were married, he was wondering about going to Venezuela to get a wife.

I informed him about the murder and kidnapping rates in Venezuela. He decided to remain stateside.

The Venezuelan state has not released murder statistics since circa 2006, as the murder rate has approximately tripled under Chavismo. Any murder statistics in Venezuela are estimates, and most likely underestimates.

So if I stay away from Japan, does that mean I can avoid death in my old age? Or should I definitely visit Japan because not doing so would mean I'll die before I reach "old age"?
