You can tell you're in the great State of Vermont when the thrift/junk/antique store you are visiting has an entire backwall section dedicated to Grateful Dead souvenirs and T-shirts. There was probably a homemade shrine out back, but I didn't bother to look.

One time I was visiting in downtown Boston near the Garden when I came across a whole bunch of longhairs wearing colorful Guatemalan jackets and shirts. WTF is going on, I thought to myself. I later figured it out: the Grateful Dead were in town for a concert.
And Phish will be joining them.
